These two photo show the proportion of the logs in the first photo, and added interest with a cute couple in the second photo. The closest log looks large whereas the logs keep getting smaller in the distance. Metadata ISO200, matrix metering, 1/80, f13 aperture, 66mm in the first photo. Metadata 2nd photo is 640 iso, w/b auto, 1/500, f11, aperture, 50mm
This was my first experience with panning and using "burst" shooting on my camera. My husband had no trouble driving back and forth for me so I could get a photo. I used the burst feature and captured him as he was heading down the road. That was fun!
This is a blind from my sons room. I took this shot upside down & at a angle. I think it represents value very well. Metadata ISO Hi-1, wb flash plus 1, matrix, 1/25 f8, 105mm
I took this photo in downtown Olympia on a dreary evening. I used flash fill, ISO640, WB Cloudy,F 6.7 , 1/6 shutter, aperture priority, 60 mm. This is the original of the previous photo which was changed to black & white in photo shop. I like this photo better because the rust shows age. It was a great experience seeing the difference between color and B & W
I took this photo and changed it to B & W to see if it created more or less drama. I believe there is more drama in the black and white, but I like the original because the all the rust on the bars shows age.
Out of all the boats in the marina, this one held the most interest for me. All the other boats were large and plain white. I really like the wood seats because it gives it color. It was very dreary and almost raining. Metadata, ISO640, cloudy wb, 1/60, f9, aperture priority, flash fill
I tried to find some color in this bleak rainy day & here it is. I spotted the balloons on a red car for sale. I wish I had thought to use a flash for this photo. It may have helped.
I found more color with flowers this time. Even the rainy weather couldn't damped the color of his rhodie hidden in the trees. Nikon D100, Center Metering, 1/60, f5.6, Aperture 98mm auto wb, ISO 250
This is the actual color of the poppy. It was raining at the time (when wasn't it this week?) and I was trying not to get the camera wet. Metadata is auto wb, 1/60 shutter, F8, aperture priority 62 mm, ISO250
I was using the circular polarizer to see the effect it had on the Olympia Bus Station Roof. Metadata, ISO 400, Fluorensent White Balance, matrix metering , f16, 1/250 shutter, aperture priority, 105 mm . I love the bus station because it reminds me of a ship with sails. I felt weird taking a picture of the bus station and I had some people ask me to take their picture.
I was drawn to the repeating pattern of the dock ribbon like edge. I also changed the white balance to fluorescent which gave it a cool blue tone. Metadata - F11 shutter 1/100, Matrix metering, ISO 250, aperture priority.
I love the combination of circular and pointed shapes of this structure. There is so much detail here in this historic building. The circular polarizer helped with this shot. It made it more defined. Metadata- F13, shutter 1/90, iso 400, manual priority. Diana
I love to go down to the lake in early spring. It's so quiet and peaceful. The trees are starting to get their leaves and the grass is new green. Hope you enjoy it too.
